'04 Graduate Andy Widman Killed in the Line of Duty
Gordon-Conwell mourns the news that Andrew (Andy) Widman, a police officer in
Fort Myers, FL, was shot and killed in the line of duty while trying to
break up a domestic violence incident on July 18. Officer Widman graduated from
Gordon-Conwell in 2004 with a Master of Divinity degree. He leaves
behind many family members including his wife Susanna and children Samuel (4 years), Sasha (20 months) and Sylvia (5 months). He is remembered fondly by
many at Gordon-Conwell who knew him.
A statement by the family has been issued and can be read online, as well as an article highlighting the outpouring of contributions to support the family of Officer Widman and an article highlighting Officer Widman as a devoted father.
